SB 1275 Passed Unanimously in Committee!

Our Senate bill 1275 passed today in the full Senate Education and Health Committee by a vote of 15 Yeas to 0 Nays and 0 Abstentions. Watch the video here!

The fact that this bill was uncontested is exciting news for our senate bill. The first reading on the Senate floor will be either tomorrow or Monday. The second reading will be the next day and is where amendments can be added, however since it was uncontested, it will likely be part of the block vote and will pass without amendments. The third reading is when it is voted on in the Senate. We'll be reporting that vote here!

Assuming our bill passes in the Senate, the House bill (HB1511) and Senate bill (SB1275) will crossover. The House bill will language will be conformed to the Senate bill. Then, there will be more voting!

Now is the time to contact your Senator and ask that they support SB1275 next week!
