The North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) is the organization that administers the CPM credential. We are very grateful to NARM for their support as we work to change out outdated law in Virginia. NARM has issued over 4000 CPM credentials since 1994 and continues to certify new midwives every day. NARM sets the standards for competency for direct entry midwives and the CPM credential is the only midwifery credential that requires experience in community birth. Read NARM's letter here!
