The Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC) is the organization that accredits birth centers they evaluate for safety and quality. Birth Centers accredited by CABC go through a rigorous accreditation process, including facility inspection, review of administrative and clinical practices, and assessment of outcomes. CABC recognizes the need for Virginia Licensed Midwives to have legal access to the medications within their scope of practice, and they support our efforts to update our law to reflect CPM education and training.
