Virginia Midwives for Safe Community Birth and the Virginia Midwives Alliance encourages all Virginia Licensed Midwives and consumers to lobby and support legislative initiatives involving amending the law to allow Licensed Midwives the ability to legally obtain, possess, and administer the medications that are in their scope of practice. STEP 1: Follow this link to find your state representatives: https://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov/ STEP 2: This sheet has the lists of all appointments requested and confirmed. Complete this form when you request/confirm meetings: Appointment Form ***You need to request your own appointment with your legislator as a constituent unless one has already been requested/confirmed.*** If there is already an appointment requested/confirmed you do NOT need to request another. You will attend together. Simply include your name, email, and senator/delegate on the form. If you are attending virtually, request a phone meeting with your representative sometime during the week of 1/16 - 1/20/2023. STEP 3: Meet at the General Assembly at 9:00 am on January 18, 2023! We'll review talking points and distribute materials you can share with your legislators.
